Our Vision

Learn About the Vision that Drives Us Forward

There is a story about a man who used to play with his young daughter every evening after work. One evening he was tired and just wanted to sit down and read the newspaper. He found a picture of the world in the newspaper, tore it into pieces, and, giving the pieces to his daughter, told her they would play when she had put the puzzle together. He thought he would be able to relax for a while, but his daughter was back in a very short time.

A picture of the earth from space.

He asked her how she was able to put the picture together so quickly. She said, “It was simple - on the back was a picture of a man. I put the man together, and the world took care of itself.”

Gnostics view the world as sacred; a place in the universe that provides the seeds, experiences and knowledge one needs in order to awaken. Although Gnostics have often been interpreted by historians as rejecting or being unconcerned with the world, this is an exoteric view. Only through actual experience can one see what the Gnostics were doing with the practices and the scope of their intent.

The teachings of gnosis focus on the individual first. Through the process of self-examination, we uproot the weeds of judgment, fear, aggression, lust and apathy. Only
as a person is clear in his vision, at peace with his nature, and open in his heart, is he making the world a better place.

If one delves deeply into the more public displays of historical Gnosticism, such as the Cathars, one finds that they had built a society that was in harmony with the land, the people and the world itself. Although the Cathars were unable to fulfill the vision of enlightening the world, they, like other historical Gnostics, were able to create an enlightened community.

The vision of an enlightened world has been a part of the TrueSight Lineage throughout our history and continues today.

A castle like structure with a tower on top of it.

Our vision and our intent is to create a gnostic community, an enlightened society that will act as a beacon and a seed for the world. The community will provide a place for those who share the vision, a place for the teachings and practices to continue, and a place to live and work harmoniously in an awakened environment.

For those curious about gnosis, we will make available classes, seminars, and extended programs that allow the experience of an environment supportive to awakening and rich with the tradition of the TrueSight lineage. For students and their families who wish to make the community their home, we will provide housing, work/study programs, and accommodations for spiritual practice and retreat in a comfortable, healthy environment. We envision this community rich with families, where the parents may work in a nearby city or choose to work in one of the community businesses. As the community grows, it will support the needs of the students and their families with educational facilities, individual homes, a library and recreational facilities. Our vision honors all spiritual paths; the land will also be available to those of other disciplines who wish to pursue spiritual practice, retreat, or study. It is also our intent to have an ongoing interaction with the greater community at large.
